World War II Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He was killed in action. He served as a First Lieutenant, Platoon Leader, in the United States Army in Company F, 119th Infantry, 30th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on April 6, 1945 at Hamelin, Germany.
