Elvi A. Maroste, 87, of Virginia died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at the Virginia Convalescent Center.
She was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Virginia to John and Ericka (Mikkola) Maki and had been an area resident for many years. She retired from the University of Arizona, Flagstaff, in 1977 as a cook.
Survivors include a son, William (Beverly) Laine; two daughters, Joyce Rude and Susan (Phillip) Donnell; two sisters, Ellen Karvala and Elna Hautala; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Laine, in 1951; her second husband, Edward Lokken, in 1973; her third husband, Wayne Maroste, in 1987; and a son-in-law, Nels Rude, in 1999.
Inurnment will be in Alango Cemetery.
