Curtis was born on Aug 8, 1958 in Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School. He attended Howard College School of Nursing and later earned his Registered Nurse's degree. He was working as a trauma nurse in Lubbock.
He was a child of the Almighty Heavenly Father.
Survivors include his wife of 18 and half years Karen Faye Brunson of Lubbock, TX; step-son Mark Thornton of Lindale; step-daughter Sonya Nichols of Abilene; parents Belton and Nona Brunson of Big Spring; two brothers Daryl Brunson and Karl Brunson; two sisters Karen Hays and Carol Curry; six grandchildren: Ashley Wheeler, Cassie Wheeler, Ethan Thornton, Kenny Thornton, Levi Thornton, Ransom Nichols and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one infant sister Denise; one infant nephew Donald Hays; and one niece Jennifer Hays.
