Mrs. Edythe B. Straily
Mrs. Edythe Blanche Straily, 85, Topeka, died MOnday, July 18, 1988, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Straily worked for Santa Fe Railway and later for American Type Founders in Kansas City, Mo. She later owned and operated a design and sewing business in her home.
She was born Sept. 12, 1901, in Republic County, the daughter of William A. and Lilly Fickle Baird. She lived in Topeka since 1909.
Mrs. Straily was a member of First Southern Baptist Church where she was preschool secretary many years. She also was a member of an Extension Home Demonstration Unit and Kappa Alpha Theta Mothers Club.
She was married to Harold E. Straily Oct. 28, 1925, in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Kay Williams and Lois Jebo, both of Topeka; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Southern Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Caraway Street Children's Worship Program and sent in care of First Southern Baptist Church, 1912 Gage, 66604. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
