COLORADO CITY ~~ Acie Phillips, 79, retired cafe operator, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Root Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday from the Oak Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Timberlake, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Glen Roenfeldt, pastor of the First Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Rains-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Phillips was born January 9, 1892 in Hardin County, Tennessee. He came to Texas in 1905. He married Florrie Brown September 15, 1917 in Comanche. They moved to Colorado City in 1922. He was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Earl McMullen and one son, A.C. Phillips, both of Colorado City; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Sipes and Mrs. O. H. Holliday, both of Sweetwater; six brothers, Richard, Earl, Roy and Ellis, all of Loraine, Neely of Fort Worth and Howard of Tyler; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
