OBITUARY: QUINCY: Harriet Vede (Maker) Wood, 87, of Quincy, formerly of East Braintree, a retired assembler for the Monitor Control Co. in Braintree and Rockland, died Sunday at the John Adams Continuing Care Center after a period of failing health.
Mrs. Wood retired from Monitor Control 20 years ago.
She attended the Union Congregational Church of Weymouth and Braintree located in East Braintree. Born in Clark Island, Maine , she was a longtime resident of East Braintree. She spent her earlier years in Quincy.
Wife of the late Albert Vincent Wood, she is survived by two sons, Albert E. Wood of Braintree and James H. Wood of Randolph: two daughters, Florence V. Hutchinson and Barbara A. Wood, both of Braintree: two sisters, Helen McNeil of Bellingham and Selma Marble of Bardiner, Maine, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
A funearl service will be held at 1:30 pm. Thursday at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Funeral Home 516 Washington St. Braintree. The Rev. Earl E. Alger, pastor of the Union Congregational Church, will officiate.
Visiting is 5 to 9 pm. at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the memorial fund of the Union Congregational Church of Weymouth and Braintree, 74 Commercial St. East Braintree 02184.
