World War II German Flying Ace. He had achieved 115 aerial victories during his career. He was the highest-ranking German ace at the time of his death. Moelders was killed in a flying accident as a passenger while taking off from Breslau-Hundsfeld Airfield to attend Luftwaffe Generaloberst Ernst Udet's funeral.
