OBIT MARGARET ELLEN BERRY GWINN FROM SEDALIA DEMOCRAT
Margaret Bwinn, 71, of 204 Driftwood Dr, died Saturday evening at Springdale Memorial Hospital, Springdale, Ark. She was born Aug. 3, 1913, at Sedalia, the daughter of Sterling A. and Nora E. Ramming Berry. On March 1, 1936, at Sedalia, she was married to Howard Gwinn, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Gwinn was raised and educated in Sedalia. She was a member of the Pettis Chapter of No 279 Order of the Eastern Star. Shw has been secretary of the chapter for the past 13 years and served as Worthy Matron in 1948. She was a member of the Social Order of the Beauceant No. 23 and was president of the organization in 1965. She also was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sedalia and was financial secretary for the past 13 years. She also served on various church committees and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Other survivors include a son, James T. Gwinn, Houston, Texas; two daughters, Delores J. Wheeler, Houston; Ruth Ann Hathaway, Houston; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Doyle M. Sager officiating. Pallbearers will be Harold J. Johnston, A. B. Case, Chester Kirkpatrick, George Chamberlin, William L. Reed and Bob Goldsmith. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be held following the funeral service at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the church.
