Obituary Published in the Amityville Record on November 3, 2010:

Lifelong Copiague resident and well-regarded high schooler Christopher M. Urban died suddenly and unexplainably in his sleep on Oct. 12, 2010. He was 16 and lived on 29th Street in Copiague.

"Life was just beginning for him, and he made every minute count," said his grandmother Barbara Valcich. "His death has left an unspeakable void in the lives of many. He touched many in his short time here on earth."

Urban played clarinet in the middle school and baritone sax in Copiague High School, where he was a junior. In 2008, he marched in the city's St. Patrick's Day and Thanksgiving Day parades. An avid athlete, he was a cross country runner for the high school track team and placed 6th in the Copiague run/walk in 2009.

He served as altar boy at Our Lady of Assumption R.C. Church in Copiague and volunteered more than 500 hours at Gurwin Nursing Home in Commack, where his mother is a therapist.

An avid Giants and Yankees fan, he was able to attend his first pre-season Giant's game in August. He recently took a trip to Croatia with his family to celebrate the 250th Anniversary celebration of the island where his grandfather was born.

In addition to his grandmother, he leaves behind his parents: Charles and Cynthia. He is also survived by his siblings, Caitlyn Urban and Charles J. DeMarco; his grandfather, Vincent Valcich, and his great grandmothers, Helen Penatzer and Angelina Innaco.

Christopher reposed at the D'Andrea Brothers Funeral Home, Copiague, on Oct. 16, 2010. A Mass was held at Our Lady of Assumption Church followed by interment in Breslau Cemetery, Lindenhurst.
