Funeral Rites of Laura E. Taylor (4-6-1933, Laurens Advertiser).

Funeral services were held at four o'clock Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Laura E. Taylor, 68, at the home of T. Lane Monroe, resident of Jones St., of this city. The services were on charge of the Rev. George H. Hodges, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Laurens, and Rev. H. G. Allen, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Concord, N. C. The rites were concluded at the graveside in the family plot in the Laurens Cemetery. A large concourse of friends and relatives attended the services, and a wealth of wreaths and other floral tributes were places on the new made mound. Mrs. Taylor died Monday morning around 2 o'clock at her home in Concord, N. C. where she had lived for the past several years with her daughter, Miss Eva Taylor. She had been ill since Christmas, but her condition had not become serious until recently. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe and other Laurens relatives had visited her from time to time, and were at her bedside through Sunday and until the end. The body was brought to this city Monday evening and was taken to the Monroe home. Mrs. Taylor was the widow of H. Frank Taylor, popular veteran railroad engineer who met a tragic death on the C. & C. W. Railroad a good many years ago. The Taylor family had made their home in Laurens during Mr. Taylor's life and up until about seven years ago, when Mrs. Taylor and her daughter moved to Concord.
