LOMBARD FAIRHOPE, AL Charles Wayne Lombard, 46, of Fairhope, AL, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011, in Fairhope, AL. He was born in Mobile, AL, graduated John Shaw High School of Mobile, AL, and James H. Faulkner Junior College in Bay Minette, AL. He was a longtime resident of Baldwin County. A certified Paramedic for over 25 years, Wayne "Lumby" Lombard was well known and loved by many in the Mobile Bay area for his endless hours of dedication to public service and helping those in medical need. He will be remembered for many unique qualities - from the comfort and console he gave to friends to being an enthusiastic sports fan of the University of Alabama. Those who knew him truly valued and respected him. His hard work, professional skills and gentle touch saved countless lives across his years of service while teaching many others to follow in his path. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. & Marilyn Varner Lombard of Mobile, AL. He is survived by one son, John Chauvin of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers, Frederick S. Lombard of Newport Beach, CA, and Edwin L. (Kristi) Lombard of Fort Worth, TX; two nieces Gabrielle E. Lombard and Alexandra R. Lombard and one nephew, William L. Lombard of Fort Worth, TX; and an extended family of several aunts, uncles and cousins from throughout the Gulf Coast area. His endless family of friends includes his near-sister Shay Matson Taylor of Mobile, AL, his loyal co-workers at Medstar-EMS and many friends in the Public Service arena of the Mobile and Baldwin county area. Funeral services will be held at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale, AL, on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be on Friday, December 16, 2011, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Interment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens, on Three Notch Road in Mobile, AL, following the funeral services. Arrangements by Mack Funeral Home, HWY 59, Robertsdale, AL.
