Dorothea A (Dolly) Sload, 63, of Steelton passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
She was a retired Administrative Clerk for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, was a clerk for Chubb's Market in Highspire and was a long time consultant for Longaberger Baskets.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Highspire.
Surviving are her husband, Paul M. Sload Jr.; one daughter, Laura A. Curran and her husband Kevin of Morristown, NJ; one son, Paul Michael Sload III of Harrisburg; two brothers, Walter Mowrer of Columbia and Donald Mowrer of Marietta; one sister, Linda Kreider of Quarryville; three grandchildren, Finn Michael Curran, Connor Michael Sload and Emily Rose Sload.
Dolly enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, bird watching, crafting, and most of all being a great wife to her beloved husband, mother to her wonderful children, grandmother to her precious grandbabies and a friend to all who shared in her life, not to mention a steadfast desire to educate anyone desiring a great basket.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 12:00 Noon in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 240 Broad Street,Highspire. Burial will be in East Donegal Cemetery, East Donegal Township, PA. A visitation will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. until time of services in her church. K.M.
