'BUDDY' LAHEY OF TWO RIVERS IS DEAD AT 44:
Two Rivers – A distinctive Two Rivers lady of 44, who had a hearty "buddy" for everyone she met in doing the family chores, is dead. She was Miss Augusta (Buddy) Lahey, 3002 Monroe St., who died at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Two Rivers Municipal Hospital, where she had been a patient only a day. She had been in failing health for nearly a year. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Klein and Stangel Inc. Funeral Home Two Rivers, the Rev. W. C. Haase officiating. Interment will be in Pioneers Rest Cemetery here. Little "Buddy", one of the city's best known residents who grew only to the stature of a girl of 10, because of physical deficiencies, was a familiar figure on city streets for some 40 years. She was born in Two Rivers in 1909, a daughter of the late former Fire Chief Edward Lahey and Ella Gruman Lahey. Besides her mother, she leaves four sisters, Mrs. Henry Schmeichel and Mrs. George Eggers of Two Rivers, Mrs. E. M. Brocher of Milwaukee and Mrs. Gilbert Weiss of Manitowoc; and three brothers, Walter of King, Wis., Edward of Two Rivers and Robert Lahey of Mishicot. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday until the time of services.
