Ward LeRoy McDonald, 69, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2004. He was born in Lehi to Kenneth G. and Inez Ann McDonald on Jan 28, 1935. He married Beverly June Nielson on May 26, 1955 and was sealed for time and all eternity on December 16, 1964.
He graduated from American Fork High in 1953, and was dedicated to the A.F. High School band and teams. A member of the United States Navy and an avid pilot, he later used his wit and love of service to carry him through the community. He worked at Geneva Steel, drove ambulance for American Fork City, owned and operated a local service station, maintained and supervised the operation of the American Fork Tabernacle and drove school bus for Alpine School District.
His love for family and the Savior shined in his eyes. He always confirmed this with a bear hug and a joke. His love for Beverly was immeasurable and his heart too big for words. He will be sorely missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Beverly June McDonald and four children, Kim (Karen) McDonald; Kevin (Becky) McDonald; Kathy (Clair) Draper; Kay (Jennifer) McDonald; brother Ralph and sister Ruth. Proud grandfather of 19 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren with 4 more on the way.
Services will be held Friday, October 15 at 11:00 am at Hillcrest 3rd Ward, 165 North 350 West, American Fork. A viewing will be held Thursday, Oct 14 at Anderson & Sons Mortuary from 6 to 8 pm.
