A retired registered nurse, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died at the Augsburg Nursing Home in Baltimore. She was a long time Lochearn, Maryland resident. Lydia was born in Scott, Louisiana, and grew up in Port Neches, Texas. She graduated from the John Sealy College of Nursing at the University of Texas, Galveston. She did post graduate work at New York Hospital and the University of Colorado in Denver. She met her husband, Luther Offutt Parlett, at a USO dance in Denver during World War II. They were married in Baltimore in March 1945. She worked from 1947-1954 as a private duty nurse at Seton Institute, Baltimore, and for many years at Sinai Hospital. She retired at 64 in 1979.
