William Henry Jones also had a male child out of wedlock with a mulatto lady named Lula Frances Edwards. The child took the name Dewey Smith from his stepfather. Lula Frances Edwards was the child of Clayton Winfield Anderson with a mulatto woman named Hariet Edwards. She was the widow of Richard Edwards. Clayton Anderson was the Uncle of Miriam Catherine Anderson, who was William Henry Jones first wife. Dewey Smith is the half brother of all of William Henry Jones's children. This was determined by doing genetic analysis of my relationship ( Alva Burkhalter) with a daughter and granddaughter of Dewey Smith.

After doing the latest research on William Henry Jones I feel compelled to leave him an epitaph. Unfortunate we do not get to chose our grandfathers, if so he would be way down my list.
Most parents want a better life for their children than they had. Henry was the opposite. He took his children out of school at the first opportunity and put them to work on the farm so he could have a better life. He was very unaffectionate to his children and grandchildren. He was raciest and a male chauvinist and was the worst product of his time. My mother had issues all her life that I can relate directly to him. I think this properly shows what little respect i have for him.
