Marion Bozath grew up in Williamsburg, VA and graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VA Tech) as an engineer. He married Elna Haynes in 1937. They moved to Los Angeles where Marion worked for Lockheed. His "baby" at work was a modified airplane - Lockheed's famous Constellation. He had developed two Connies to have a "Flying Saucer" on the top which carried the latest in radar equipment. These became the first planes in the AWACS system - they flew along the northern border of Canada for years (maybe they still do) to warn us of a Russian attack. While he was in Boston delivering his project, he had a sudden heart attack.
