She worked for the VA for 37 years, originally at Aberdeen Proving Ground, eventually transferring to Coatesville when she married my father. She retired from the VA in 1982.
Her birth certificate says that her birthdate was May 11, not May 14, which is what she always thought it was. I have since seen the original record, which does say the 14th, so the state transcribed it incorrectly. It also has her name spelled as Mathilda, which I do think is correct. Mom liked names that were French and put the E on the end (Anne Mathilde).
