George and his wife may have come to America in 1851. They settled in the state of Indiana, LaPorte Co. Michigan Twnsp. In the 1860 census, George is listed as a cabinet maker. By June of 1865, the George Roesler family had settled in Woodinville Twnsp Waseca Co.

They may have been the first of the family to come here, in 1851. George and Anna Louise had three children when they crossed the ocean. They first settled in LaPorte County, Michigan Tp. Indiana. They are listed in the 1860 census there. George and his son August are listed as cabinet makers. Before June 1, 1865 the are listed in the Woodville Tp. Waseca County Minnesota.

The description of their land in Woodville Tp. is the S. E. Section 1/4 of section 20, and the Southwest 1/4 of section 21.


His obituary states:

Waseca Herald 5-26-1893 Pg. 5

Mr. Gottlieb Roesler of Woodville, father of Mrs. A. Grapp, died at noon, on the 25th inst. (yesterday) of kidney trouble, aged - years, and
accumulated quite a property. He has a large number of relatives in the county. He was an industrious, honest man, and little peculiar in his
religious views. The funeral will take place on the old farm homestead, on Sunday next, at the residence of his son Lewis, and the remains will be buried on the farm, the place having been selected by himself."


However, George is buried next to his wife in Woodville Cemetery, Waseca County MN.
