Hattie was born to Mr. and Mrs. Elford J. Lines. She married Walter William Hart Blenkarn, son of William Thomas Blenkarn and Eleanor Maria "Nellie" Ardley Turner on 20 Jul 1883 at the Congregational Church in Waubaunsee, Kansas. The very impressive wedding ceremony was performed by his father Rev. William Thomas Blenkarn, in the presence of many relatives and friends of the happy couple. Milton D. Asher, of Alma was organist, Theo S. Spellman and M.R. Walter were ushers. After the ceremony a reception was given at the home of the bride's mother, where a large number of invited guests had an enjoyable time. They did not have any children, but they extended much love to their many nephews and nieces. In 1923 they moved to Manhattan, Kansas and ran a store up until his retirement. His wife died shortly after their move to Manhattan. They were members of the Presbyterian church in Manhattan. She is buried at the Waubaunsee Cemetery along with her husband.

Other problem

They also reported, specifically:
Hattie Blenkarn is not listed in the cemetery records that I checked, nor could I find the grave or a memorial stone for her. The records to which I refer are a compilation that is entitled "Wabaunsee Cemetery, Wabaunsee, Kansas" published in 1987 w/the Foreword showing that entries in the book include information from the cemetery records kept by the Wabaunsee Township Trustee as well as information on the Wabaunsee Cemetery from pages 93-102 of "New Branches from Old Trees, a New History of Wabaunsee County," published by the Wabaunsee County Historical Society in 1976. I did find the memorial stone for Eleanor and then (on the side of Eleanor's stone) the inscription for Alice May and an inscription on the other side of Eleanor's memorial stone that is nearly unreadable...perhaps Nellie? In summary, this 1987 compilation does not list a Hattie Blenkarn. I would direct you to the Riley County Genealogical Society page where you can order this "Wabaunsee Cemetery" publication...Publication #075 for $13.00 if you want to check this out further...but I don't believe I overlooked a listing for Hattie. Note: When I went to the Riley County Gen. Society Tuesday, I was only able to check the master copy & did not purchase a copy to keep at home. Sorry I was unable to assist.
