MRS. LUTHER CLUTTER.

Mary Bessie Bird, daughter of Reverend [James] Washington and Debby [Deborah] White Bird, was born June 24, 1870 at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and departed this life at the Graham hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, November 16, 1934, at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 22 days.

At an early age she united with the Methodist church and remained a faithful member throughout her life.

She was united In marriage to Luther Clutter, September 29, 1891, and to this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Irene Hadix of Fairmont, Missouri. Besides her devoted husband and daughter, she leaves to mourn her departure, two grand- children, Phylis and Melvin Hadix; two brothers and one sister, Pearl Bird of Orange, Calif.; Frank Bird and Jennie Bird of Mt. Pleasant, la.; several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
Mrs. Clutter was a devoted wife and a loving mother.
Throughout her life she served her family faithfully, always thinking of others before herself.

She was a faithful church worker keeping faith in her Lord to the end, although the last few months of her life were spent in the hospital where she suffered almost constantly.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but our loss will be her gain.

The body was moved to the Funeral Home at Wyaconda, Friday evening and later to the home of a nephew, Harold Olson.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Fairmont Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. G. V. Baskett. Music was furnished by Misses Lois and Lucille Jenkins, Ruth Kapfer and Mrs. Robert Allen, Miss Barbara Drencher at the piano.

The pallbearers were Messrs. Robert Allen, H. E. Wood, Roscoe Drescher, Bert Hines, O. C. Thompson and Bert Wilson.

The body was tenderly laid to rest in the Fairmont cemetery to await the Resurrection."
