The birth year on the Death Certificate has to be wrong. Alverta is already on the 1880 Census of Banks, Indiana Co. as a 5 month old infant. She was the first known child of Michael Bowers and Sarah Ross, both around the age of 22.

Administrator's note: She is listed as 5 mo old in the June 5 1880 census of Banks Twp, Indiana County, PA. BUT, in the next column, in fine print, her birth month is listed as "Dec." Her birth day is listed as Dec 24, in her death certificate. (Close enough to 5 months, from June 5th.) Her birth date will, therefore, be listed as Dec. 24, 1879. She is older then 5 months and younger then 6 months, with this census and this birth date The above listed contributor is absolutely correct...the birth date on the Death Certificate has to be in error, since it would be impossible to be listed on a census, with a birth date, before she was born. Concurrently, the Registrar used the correct date of death and the erroneous birth date to compute age at death. Her correct age at death would be 47 Y, 1 M & 27 D and the death certificate is also incorrect with her age, at death.
