Lindsey L. Long Jr. passed away Dec. 9, 2011. He was born in Beaver, OK on April 18, 1917 to Dr. Lindsey L. Long and Maude Beegle Long. He graduated Beaver High School, attended OU and graduated the school of Architecture. He was a member of the Acacia Fraternity. He was a member of the OU Marching Band, the Inter-Fraternal Council, Delta Beta Chi, Engineering Club and El Mojii. During WWII he served time in the Navy. After WWII he worked as an architect with the firms, Porey-Hill-Sorey, Wright & Selby and JHBR Architects until retirement. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was a member of the Harrison S.S. Class. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Beaver and 32nd degree Mason for over 50 years at Guthrie, OK. Lindsey was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Lindsey L. Long; mother, Maude Beegle Long; sister, Lenore Lufkin-Wallace; son, Lindsey L. Long III; his wife, Lois Burham; and his wife, Ruth U. Long. He is survived by his wife, Charolette F. Long; daughter-in-law, Vita Long; grandson, Lindsey L. Long IV and wife Casie, great-granddaughter, Tia; his granddaughter, Candace Long Williams, great-granddaughter, Alexandria; his stepchildren, Carol Stewart and husband Tom, and Frank Fonvielle, and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to St. Luke's Church Foundation of other areas of St. Luke's. Services will be held 10 a.m., Tues., Dec. 13, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, followed by interment in Rose Hill Burial Park.
