Wheatland and community was shocked Saturday to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Tom Bateman. Mrs. Bateman was taken suddenly ill Friday with a stroke and the end came the next day.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Copley Funeral Home with the Pentecostal minister in charge of the services. Interment took place in the Wheatland Cemetery with the Copley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ivie Pearl Bateman was born in Bloomfield, Iowa, January 12, 1892. She had lived in Wheatland the past 9 years.

She was united in marriage to Tom Williams, June 30, 1907 in Laverne, Oklahoma. To this union six children were born. Her husband preceded her in death in 1926.

She was then united in marriage to Tom R. Bateman June 5, 1927 at Veber, Oklahoma.

At an early age, she confessed the Christian faith and was united with the Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Isabell Kile of Laverne, Oklahoma, her husband, six children: Mrs. Mary Wilson of Wheatland; Mrs. Dorothy Flynn, Parco, Wyoming; Leo Williams, Beulah Tuttle, Kenneth Williams, Barbara Jean Bateman, all of Wheatland. Two children preceded their mother in death. She is also survived by one brother, Ross Grinstead of Winsor, Colorado, two sisters, Ruth Nester and Mayme Cronk, both of Laverne, Oklahoma.
