She suffered a broken hip: "Mrs Caddie Allbritain, for many years school teacher and journalist suffered a broken hip in a fall at the home of her nephew Fletcher Clark 1221 East Dunklin Street. Her condition is serious. Mrs Allbritain taught school in Jefferson City for many years and was society reporter for Jefferson City and St Louis newspapers. She is widely known in the state. The attending physician said her condition was not critical and unless complications set in she has an even chance to recover."

However, the next month her death was reported: "Allbritain, Mrs Caddie Bolton – Passed away Tuesday morning at 13:45. Remains will be at the home of Mr and Mrs Fletcher Clarke, 1221 E. Dunklin Street, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 by Rev.A.B. Jackson. Burial in Riverview Cemetery. Heinrichs Service."
