Harold Lee "Mick" Craven, 73, of Caldwell, died Sunday, June 13, 2004 in Caldwell surrounded by his loved ones. He was born the youngest of 8 children, August 3, 1930 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Robert and Gladys (Bryant) Craven. Mick joined the U.S. Navy in October 1947 and served as medic in the U.S. Marine Corps until 1949 when he reenlisted in the U. S. Army. He served in the Korean War where he received the Silver Star. In 1961 he was stationed at Fitzsimmons General Hospital in Denver, Colorado where he met Specialist 4 Marilyn Kable. They were married in Grand View, Idaho on July 14, 1962. Together they served three years in Heidleberg, Germany. He was also stationed in San Francisco at the Presidio, Fort Benning, Georgia, Fort Lewis, Washington and Bangkok, Thailand. He also served in Vietnam. While stationed in Thailand it was one of his greatest honors to serve as a medic with the Bob Hope USO Christmas tour in 1969 and 1970. He retired from the service in 1971 and moved with his wife and children to Caldwell, Idaho where he worked as an LPN. He served as Canyon County Coroner and in later years served as Owyhee County Coroner. Mickey always had a smile on his face and a joke to share.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn Craven of Caldwell; his five children and their spouses. Harold "Troop" Craven and wife Sharon of Vancouver, WA; Melvern Craven of Spokane, WA; Darlene Hanks and husband Jeff of Jerome, ID; Katieann Hanks of Rocklin, CA; and Dale Ann Bisbal and husband Allen of Pittsburg, PA; He is also survived by his sister Eleanor Cranston and husband Floyd of East Liverpool, OH and his father-in-law Melvern Kable of Caldwell; 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friends Don and Phyllis Woolery of Nampa, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Gladys; son Richard and siblings Barbara, Virginia, Bruce, Robert, Rosemary and June. A special thanks to nurses at the Cascade Care Center in Caldwell; Jacqueline, Theresa, Anneka and Debbie. There was a viewing Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. All family and friends were invited to graveside services Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell
