Christina Luján-Bonds, age 60, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on March 15, 2003 after an eight-year battle with leukemia.
Christina worked for thirty years with the United States Department of Energy and was a Program Analyst with the Transportation Safeguards Division when she retired in 1996. For many years she attended and served as a volunteer with Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church and was a secertary with the Parish. Chrisina was born in Torreon she moved to Albuquerque after graduating from high school in the early 1960s.
Her husband, Chuck Bonds and son, Charles, her sisters, Andrea Luján, Berlinda Luján and Mary Chávez and brother, Raymond Luján and his wife, Flora form Albuquerque and sister, Jenny Valdéz form Santa Fé survive her. Her loving family also include Lee Roy and Lucille Bonds from Hobbs, her mother and father-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruben and Lillian Baca form Albuquerque, Lee and Jan Bonds form Hesperia, CA, Glenda and Ken Vestal form Odonnell, TX and Sue and Pat Moran from Wichita Falls, TX.
Christina was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfonso Luján and León Luján and sisters, Lucille Baca and Carman Luján of Albuquerque.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria NE. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
