Johnny was born into the union of Arthur and Landon (Rogers) Boyd on July 13, 1928 in Corinth, Miss. He confessed Christ at an early age and was united in matrimony to LueBertha Hubbard on Dec. 23, 1948. He was a member of the House of Worship for All People.

He worked for Wysong Construction from 1959 to 1969 and at Essex Wire from 1970 to 1975. He was an avid car racer, (Bunker Hill) Golden Glove boxer and singer with The Marion Harmonizers.

He leaves to cherish his memory eight children, John Boyd Jr., Indianapolis, who is no longer with us as of Dec. 6, 2011, Darryl (Carol) Boyd, Indianapolis, David Boyd Sr., Marion, Bobby (Linda) Boyd, Freemont, Ohio, Donald (Patricia) Boyd, Marion, Linda Trice, Indianapolis, and Alisa and Regina Boyd, both of Marion; brother-in-law, Charles Hubbard, Kentucky; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a host of loving family members and friends and "special friend" Marie McCain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his mother-in-law, Lillian Ball.
