Billy Fred Barrett, 80, of Corpus Christi/Fayetteville, Texas, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Doctor's Regional Hospital in Corpus Christi. Billy was born in Mounds, Oklahoma on February 22, 1931, the son of the late Theodore and Rachael (Christian) Barrett. He was a Road Construction Supervisor for 58 years and worked for Garrett Construction for 20 years in Ingleside, Texas. He built roads all over Texas and the last road he built was to heaven.

He is survived by his best friend and companion, Jean Sladek of Corpus Christi/Fayetteville; two sons: Malon and Brian Barrett of Corpus Christi; two daughters: Susan Shearer of Palestine, Texas and Karen Brcozwski and husband, David of Hondo, Texas; sister, Ann Shipley and husband, Chuck of Kingsville, Texas; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five adopted children: Wanda and Ted Fritsch of Fayetteville, Terry and Janet Grayson of La Grange; Rodney and Lori Sladek of Fayetteville, three adopted granddaughters and two adopted grandsons; and his beloved dachshund, Mollie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Kay James and Wilma Popp.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Funeraria De Angel Memorial Holly Funeral Home, 3242 Holly Road, Corpus Christi, Texas.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Koenig & Strickland Knesek Chapel, 207 Live Oak Fayetteville, Texas. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m..

Funeral Services will be held at Funeraria De Angel Memorial Holly Funeral Home in Corpus Christi at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, December 12, 2011. A second funeral service will be held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home Knesek Chapel in Fayetteville at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.

Burial will follow at Fayetteville Catholic Cemetery in Fayetteville, Texas.
