Roy Bland Barwick, 84, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at East Carolina Heart Institute in Greenville, N.C.
The son of Roy Bland Barwick Sr and Emma Herring was a local business man, serving a long term on the Warsaw School Board, Duplin General Hospital board, country club and many others.

He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific.

Surviving Mr. Barwick are his wife, Laura West Barwick of the home; sons, Michael and his wife, Timi, of Alexandria, Va., Russell of Rose Hill, N.C., and Stuart and Joy of Winterville, N.C.; and six grandchildren, Ian, Cody, Brooke, Paige, Blair and Jordan Barwick.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Warsaw United Methodist Church, with services at 3 p.m. Interment to follow at Devotional Gardens of Warsaw.
