Date of birth shown (1884) is likely wrong - various documents, including marriage application, show it to be March 10th, 1882. Year of death shown, 1957, is also in error - was actually 21 July 1958 (obituary, Terre Haute Tribunal).

Note: Alston’s death certificate shows a death year of ‘1958’ in three places. This disagrees with his gravestone’s death year of ‘1957’. (Courtesy David L McMonigle)
