Married Elizabeth Ann Winn on November 26, 1844 in Jackson County, Georgia. She was the daughter of John Alexander Winn and Laodicea "Dicey" Ann Horton.

A volunteer has reported that they were unable to locate a legible headstone/marker for William Braselton at the Walnut Fork cemetery.

According to a 17 July 1963 letter of Susan Brandon, 741 Frederica St., N.E., Apt. 5, Atlanta, GA 30306, to Guy Braselton, William H. Braselton is buried in the Walnut Fork cemetery in Jackson Co., Georgia. Miss Brandon cites a scrapbook kept by Ophelia Webster Sawtell, daughter of William H. Braselton's sister Elika. She states that the page entitled "Flowers from the Graves of My Grandparents and Great-Grandparents and Relatives in Jackson Co., Ga,"and that it had dried flowers that Ophelia Sawtell had picked in 1881 from these graves. One of these was from her uncle William H. Braselton's grave, according to Susan Brandon.
