She retired as a supervisor from the former United Telephone Co.; was a graduate of Newport High School; a member of Market Street United Methodist Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America; and enjoyed crafts and flower arranging.
She was the widow of Maurice E. Flurie. Surviving are a son, Michael E. Flurie Sr., and a daughter, Vicki J. Hall, both of Newport; a brother, John Smith of Wila; three sisters, Marian Yohn of Wila, Faye Stroup of Millerstown and Janet Smith of Newport; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Myers unreal Home, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 tonight in the funeral home.
