He was a retired farmer and one of the largest real estate owners in this section of the county. In politics he was a staunch Democrat. He was a member of Bethesda Episcopal Church and a charter member of Washington Camp No. 20, Patriotic Order Sons of America, Gist, which attended the funeral in a body and conducted services at the grave.
Mr. Allen is survived by his widow, who previous to her marriage, was Miss Kate Lindsay; two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Marshall Buckingham, Mrs. George A. Brown, Messrs. William T., Walter E. and George E. Allen, all of this county; and several grandchildren; one brother and one sister.
