Dell E. Cleaver Jr., 63, of Council Bluffs, died Wednesday Jan. 25, in Council Bluffs.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley with Pastor Nathan Slaughter officiating. Music was taped selections. Casket bearers were John Hand, Hershel Roach, Larry Cleaver, Wesley Gale, Jamie Cleaver, Dennis Cleaver Jr., and Danny Cleaver. Final resting place was Blair Cemetery in Blair.
Dell was born November 1, 1942 in Missouri Valley to Dell & Clara (Hatcher) Cleaver Sr. Dell attended and graduated from the Missouri Valley High School. From there Dell continued his education for 2 more years. Dell served in the Navy & was a welder for the American Hydraulic Company.
Dell was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mary Lou Hopkins, Darla M. Myers; brothers Robert L., Daniel L., & Lorraine L.
Survivors include sisters Phyllis D. Westcott, Joy W. Adkins, Jacqueline E. Gale of Council Bluffs; Norma J. Kirsch & husband Harold of Clarinda; Odetta A. Roach of Missouri Valley; Linda C. Hand and husband Lee of Rockport, Texas; brothers Leonard J. of Las Lunas, NM, Dennis D. & wife Mary; Larry & wife Patty of Council Bluffs; many nieces & nephews.
