He owned a 1-ring circus that travelled the state of Illinois and was Montana's rep to the Circus Fans in America. Several years was naturalist at New York State Park. Nationally recognized authority and author on birdlife. Also author of "Silloway's History of Central Montana". Received an honorary Master of Science degree from the University of Montana. Had 2 children, including Herbert W., of which burial unknown.
