Husband and Wife Killed By Lightning

Mr. George Rumberger and wife, at Warriorsmark township, in Huntingdon county, Pa., were killed by lightning on Saturday, the 28th. There had been quite a heavy thunderstorm, and when the rain had partically ceased, Mr. Rumberger went out to open a passage for water, which was daming up in the garden. His wife followed him with his coat; and he stepped with her under a large poplar tree, to put it on, when the lightning struck the tree, and instantly killed both husband and wife. Five small children are left orphans by this afflicting dispensation of Providence.
