Married to Mary Elizabeth Martin June 27, 1889 at Rooks County, Kansas in a log cabin that was the home of Elizabeth and her parents. George had went to Rooks county to work and had met Elizabeth there. He returned to Pawnee county three years later bringing his bride. They lived on the farm until 1939 they moved into Pawnee City where him and his sons did carpentry and construction work.
They were the parents of seven children. Mrs. Hiram Byers, Mrs. Owen Yarger, Merle, Wilmer, Fred, Lloyd, and Adrian.
