"BOYD, N. E., farmer and stock raiser, P.O. Yuba City; he was born in Russell county, Virginia in 1849, where he lived until his removal to this State in July 1869; he first settled in Yuba City, engaging in the grocery business, which occupied his attention for about a year; he then moved to his present location at South Butte and engaged in farming. Mr. Boyd was married May 2, 1871, to Miss Laura Wilcoxon, of Yuba City by whom he has had two sons; his wife was born in Missouri, November 6 1852. He is quite extensively engaged in farming and sheep raising."
