Richard C. "Ick" Page, 90, of Linton passed away at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

He was born in Linton on November 20, 1921, the son of Elvin and Hersel (Sizemore) Page.

He started working at a young age for Wolford's Flower Garden. He spent three and one-half years in the United States Army during World War II as a quartermaster. He retired from Peabody Coal Company Jasonville Shops after thirty-eight years of service.

His memberships included the Church of Christ, American Legion Post #22, and the B.P.O. Elks #866, all of Linton, and the United Mine Workers of America. Richard was a wonderful husband and father.

He is survived by his wife whom he married on August 7, 1943, Esther (Perkins) Page of Linton; two sons, Rick (Teressa) Page, and Jeffrey S. Page, both of Linton; grandchildren Mindy Page, Eric (Nikki) Page, Clayton Page, Kaylee Page, Wendy Ickes, and John Yoder; great-grandchildren Noah Page, Christopher Ickes and Kaitlyn Neal.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Kenneth, Pat and Winfred Page; and a sister Lavera Neal.

A funeral service will be held at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011, with Pat Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

The family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Linton Church of Christ through the funeral home.
