She was born on February 5, 1950 in Rushville to Frank Mourey and Mary A. (Springman) Tompkins. Drenda was a 1968 graduate of Arlington High School. She married Ronald Copple on December 22, 1968 and he survives.
She worked 33 years for Chrysler in New Castle where she was a job coordinator. She was a member of the Hannegan Christian Church, a life member of the Rushville VFW, a member of the Rushville Eagles Lodge and the UAW #371. Drenda enjoyed photography and was deeply devoted to her grandkids.
Survivors in addition to her husband Ron of Rushville, also include her mother, Mary A. & husband Johnny Tompkins of Mauzy, a daughter, Susan Renee & husband Danny Hoeing of Rushville, brothers, Frank & wife Melissa Mourey of Greensburg and Danny Mourey and grandchildren, Nathaniel Grant and Tessa Jean Hoeing.
She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Gina Ann Herbert.
Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, December 12 at the Hannegan Christian Church. Warren Engel will preside. Friends are welcome to visit from 2 until 6 PM Sunday, December 11 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville.
Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ARC of Rush County or the Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard.
