OBITUARY :
JAMES E. NEZAT, age 78 of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Manor Care Nursing and Rehab in Chambersburg.

He was born Saturday, August 12, 1933 in Opelousas, LA, the son of the late Paul Valex and Laura M. (Carriere) Nezat. James retired from the US Army in 1983 as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 after 30 years and 3 months of service. He served in the Vietnam War era and was a recipient of the Medal of Valor.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Florence C. (Stelly) Nezat of Shippensburg.

He is also survived by two daughters: Lynette M. and husband Paul Drake of San Antonio, TX, Sharlene A. and husband Kevin Williams of El Paso, TX; two sons: Gregory J. and wife Kathy Nezat of Shippensburg and Byron C. and wife Kathy Nezat of Las Vegas, NV; a brother Johnnie Nezat and three sisters: Betty Lou Pitre, Laura Mae Mouton and Joyce Gonzalez all of Louisiana; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anita J. Callan who died in 1986. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Dr., Shippensburg.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 9:30 AM at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Fr. David Hillier officiating. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association , 3544 N. Progress Avenue, Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or National Parkinson's Foundation, 330 S. 9th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
