Actor. Best known for his roles as Dr. Alan Dawson in the British television series, "Emergency Ward 10" (1957) and as Inspector Craddock in the four Agatha Christie's Miss Marple films, "Murder She Said" (1961), "Murder at the Gallop" (1963), "Murder Most Foul" (1964) and "Murder Ahoy" (1964). A veteran of over 100 television and film credits, his last appearance was as Sandy Wilsoncroft in eight episodes of the television series, "Bed of Roses" which were all released in 2010. He died of prostate cancer and was given a state funeral, held at St. Paul's Cathedral, in Melbourne.
