Napoleon Boneparte Davis was sixth child of James Owen Davis and Mary Gentry/Davis. His father James was married twice, so Napoleon had 6 brothers, 3 half-brothers, 7 sisters and 2 half-sisters. He was born in Atlanta, Logan county, Illinois.
Napoleon met and married Mary Ann Mapes on January 9 1866, in Atlanta, Logan County, Illinois. They moved to Decatur, Macon county, Illinois where they had their first daughter Melissa Jane Davis born November 28 1866, Then they moved to Boone county, Missouri and their second child was born and died November 20 1868, his name was William O Davis. Then their third child Matilda Belle Davis was born November 15 1872, and also their forth child was also Born in Boone County Missouri, his name was James Owen Davis born December 6 1874.
In the year of 1877 they moved to Valley, Ellsworth County, Kansas. On October 17 1878 their fifth child Thomas Oliver "Jack" Davis was born. On October 4 1880 their sixth child was born, Miranda Annie Davis, On April 2 1883 their seventh child was born Maria Jennie Davis. On February 9 1885 their eighth child was born Malinda H Davis. On March 3 1887 their ninth child was born Omer Boneparte Davis. On May 27 1889 their tenth child was born Mahalia Mae Davis. On December 19 1891 their eleventh child was born Amanda Maude Davis. In 1901 they decided to move again and made their home near Alamota, Lane County, Kansas.
On December 11 1901 their daughter Maria Jennie Atwell/Davis died leaving an 18 day old son William James Atwell. In 1908 another daughter died Malinda H Donovan/Davis.
Also about 1906 Napoleon Boneparte Davis and Mary Ann Davis/Mapes divorced. Then January 17 1906 Napoleon moved into National Soldiers home in Levenworth Kansas. He lived in soldier home for several years and didn't get remarried. Mary Ann Davis/Mapes married Henry C Smith in 1913 and divorced about 1923. Napoleon Boneparte purchased a home in Sterling Kansas and passed away March 13 1931 and is buried in Sterling Cemetery in Sterling, Rice County, Kansas
