Peggy Sue Grimes, 64, of Wellington, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at her home.
Born in McDowell, Kent., on Feb. 7, 1947, Peggy was the daughter of Johnny and Carrie (nee Pinson) Sword.
Peggy worked for Forest City in Wellington for 15 years and retired from Wal-Mart after 10 years of employment. She enjoyed dancing and singing and cherished time spent with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Patti (John) Owen, of Wellington; grandchildren, Ashley E. Walton, James Ray Walton Jr., Jessica Paige Walton, all of Wellington and Shana Walton, of Georgia; two sons of Wisconsin; mother, Carrie Sword; siblings, Russel (Sandy) Sword of New London, Stoney (Karen) Sword of Ashland, Anna Russell of Wellington, Patty (Larry) Gum of Indiana, Artie (Jayne) Sword of Wellington, Sandra (Kevin) Jordan of Wellington, Donnie (Cathy) Sword of Indiana, Debbie Galloway of Wellington and Kenny (Stacy) Sword of Wellington; and many nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Johnny; brother Ed; husband Sam Grimes; and grandson Joshua.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Garry West officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home or to New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, Ohio, 44035.
