CALDWELL — W. Gene Bayless, 62, of Caldwell, died Friday, Dec. 16, 1988, at home of natural causes.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the Dakan Funeral Chapel. The Followers of Christ Church will officiate.
Mr. Bayless, a retired motel manager, was born Sept. 2, 1926, at Bend, Ore. a son of Rees and Lu Wallace Bayless. He attended school in Caldwell. He married Donna Jean Gepford in 1945. They resided in Oregon City, Ore. He came to Wilder in 1958 where he operated an auto repair shop until 1978. He married Juanita Wallace in 1982. They managed a motel until he became ill with cancer in 1987.
He was a member of the Followers of Christ Church, Caldwell.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita of Caldwell; two sons, Rolland Bayless of Boise and Dennis Bayless of Caldwell; two daughters, Zion Eells of Caldwell and Deena Eells of Middleton; a stepson, Mike Wallace of Boise; two stepdaughters, Mryna Shippy and Kelly Martinez, both of Caldwell; his mother, Lu Bayless of Oregon City, Ore.; a twin brother, R. Dean Bayless of Canby, Ore.; a brother, Cleo Bayless of Gladstone, Ore.; a sister, Zelda Dean of Croswell, Mich.; 24 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. His father died earlier.
