William Edwards came to the United States with his parents, William and Elizabeth (Scott) Edwards and his older brother, James in about 1872. They lived in Spartansburg, PA from 1873 until 1903 when they re-located to Oil City PA. While in Spartansburg, he (with brother, James) owned and operated a grocery store and then a woolen mill. The mill was moved to Oil City and operated there from 1903-1906 when it was destroyed by fire. Later, James and William owned the Edwards Brothers Department Store in Oil City. William was involved there until his death on February 28, 1933. His wife continued with the store following his death.
William married Clyde Asenath Williams (Brush) on June 15, 1892 with Rev. WH Bunce presiding in Greenville, PA. They had 2 daughters: Helen Elizabeth and Cecil Asenath.
Descendants of William and Clyde are also interred at the Shenango crypt.
His brother James and his spouse, Gertrude can be found associated with Find-a-Grave # 144486394 at Westlawn Cemetery in Columbus, PA Warren County.
His parents returned to Scotland and died there (Elizabeth in 1908 and William in 1927)
