Elmer F. Schoenecker age 102, of St Therese, New Hope and formerly of St. Cloud and Melrose, passed away peacefully on Dec 5, 2011 after a long, very productive, and happy life. He was born Oct 26, 1909 in Eden Valley, MN and attended Eden Valley schools growing up and later Gonzaga University in WA and the University of MN. He worked in many professions throughout his life, the longest being owner of Schoenecker Funeral Home in Melrose for many years.
He married Alma A. Brinkman Jun 1, 1935 and raised a family of four children.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alma in 1994, his daughter Mary in 2006, his parents, and 11 brothers & sisters. He is survived by his daughter Joan Schoenecker (Pat McKee), Plymouth, MN, sons Jim Schoenecker (Sharon), Mukilteo, WA, and Jack Schoenecker, Layton UT, 15 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation Thurs., Dec. 8 (5-8 pm) at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway, Robbinsdale. Mass of Christian Burial Fri., Dec. 9 10:30 am, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 105 N. Forestview Ln., Plymouth preceded by visitation 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Interment at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.
