Rev. Francis J. Hall, 88, the son of Matthew and Mary Hall, attended Canisius College and studied theology at the Canisianum in Innsbruck, Austria, He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo, New York on April 2, 1933.
He served as assistant pastor of Blessed Trinity 1933-35; St. Mary of Sorrows, 1935-37; Holy Redeemer, 1937-39; St. Louis, 1939-43, and again at St Mary of Sorrows 1943-49, all in Buffalo. He then served as administrator at St Mary of Sorrows from 1949 to 1952. He was named pastor of St Augustine Parish, Rapids for 9 months; Sacred Heart parish, Bowmansville (1954-63), and St. Bernard Parish (1963-1967), Buffalo.
A very friendly man, Father Hall was remembered fondly for many years after leaving these parishes.
In 1967 he was named pastor of St Mary of the Assumption Parish in Lancaster and retired seven years later.
