ELDEN R RISING: 70; of Elyria, died Saturday [11-4]. Born in Belden, MrRising was an Elyria area resident all his life. He retired from Repu-blic Steel in 1981 after 41yrs as general plant foreman. A WorldWar-II Army veteran, he ser-ved in the Tank Destroyer Battalion in Europe. MrRising was a charter member of the Battle of the Bulge Club, a life member of Elyria VFW Post 1079 & a member of Elyria American Leg-ion Post 12. He was also a member of St Mary Catholic Church & was formerly active in the LaPorte Hot Stove League. He enjoyed hunt-ing & fishing & was a member of LaGrange Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife Florence, to whom he was married 43 years, a dau: Bonnie-Elyria; a son Gary-Elyria & a grandson Scott. MrRising was preceded in death by a brother Robert & a sister Marie.
Friends may call in Blackburn-Fulton Funeral Home-Grafton where 8PM prayer services will be conducted today. Mass for Mr Rising will be held Tuesday morn [11-7] in St Mary Catholic Church-Elyria with Rev Charles Diedrick as celebrant. Burial will be in Belden Cem.
